The Gateway Program of Study

The Gateway missionary training program is designed to produce growth in every area in the life of the missionary candidate . This is done through the use of a variety of training methods to broaden the learning experience and intentionally address key concerns and struggles which a missionary will face on the missions field.

Gateway is committed to addressing the crucial training needs of missionaries in the 21st century. As a training community, the missionary candidate's life at Gateway is enriched cross-culturally as they learn and interact with fellow missionary candidates from various cultural backgrounds. They not only share the classroom but together with the teachers and staff, eat, work, minister, worship and live together.

The TRAX Program - Cross-cultural Training

This well established missionary training program lasts 7 months and is designed to provide candidates with the missiological skills and attitudes essential for effective overseas service. The first 13 weeks are comprised of a mixture of classroom and hands-on learning in a residential environment.

This is followed by a custom designed 90 day cross-cultural internship. The program concludes with a debriefing experience that synthesizes the whole learning process. For more specific details about the TRAX program, click here.
